Introduction
Paula Kirby is a fine artist, specialist photographer & educator.
Fine Art
Working from a studio in the centre of Sheffield, Paula uses photography
to create meaningful, thought-provoking and often amusing contemporary
works of fine art. The central theme of Paula’s fine art is an exploration
of the relationship between the individual and global capitalism, in particular
our role as consumers and the influence of marketing and advertising.
Recent
work, including ‘Kitchen Scenes’, ‘Consumi’
and ‘Consumed’ focuses on the production, packaging and marketing
of food, whilst the ‘Nike Apple’ series examines the pervasive
influence of global brands.
Paula is committed to making her work accessible and in addition to formal
exhibitions at The Graves Gallery, Sheffield and The Workstation, Sheffield
her work has been seen on a roadside billboard, in the foyers of Radio Sheffield
and Persistence Works and at Hillsborough Leisure Centre.
Paula’s work is available for exhibition or private sale and her pieces provide a unique, striking and stimulating compliment to stylish homes. Paula is willing to undertake commissions for all ethical and non-exploitative organisations. Works are individually priced and will be quoted upon application to the artist. Paula
provides a photographic service to artists wishing to document or promote
their work. As a fine artist and professionally trained photographer Paula
is uniquely placed to understand the demands of her clients and is happy
to discuss specific requirements.

Teaching & Workshops
With 16 years of teaching experience, ranging from infants to adults, Paula is able to provide workshops and arts education programmes in a range of media and settings. Details can be accessed via Workshops and Teaching. Paula is also a photography tutor for the Open College of the Arts.
